Dr. O'Rawe holds a PhD in Genetics from Stony Brook university. His doctoral studies focused on investigating the genetic basis of human disease, and on developing novel algorithms and statistical methods for analyzing DNA sequencing data. He has authored over a dozen peer-reviewed scientific articles, which range from studies of genetic disease, uncertainty in DNA sequencing analysis to topics on natural language processing. Dr. O'Rawe was a Senior Scientist at Applied Biomathematics, where he contributed to the research and development of quantitative methods for analyzing uncertain data, and developed new ideas for the analysis of uncertain DNA sequence data. He is currently a Research Scientist at Facebook, where he leads internal research on complex communications and applied natural language processing.
