Many RAMAS programs can be run on Macintosh computers that are booted into
Windows (using Boot Camp, which is included in recent versions of Mac OS X
running on Intel-based Macs) or running Windows using virtualization
software. Windows is not included with these solutions -- you must obtain
it separately and install it.
We have not tested these current solutions, but since no CPU emulation is
required, they should work as well as most PC computers.
Current Options (as of January, 2010)
Older, Tested Options
Many RAMAS programs can be run on Macintosh computers
under Windows emulation software SoftWindows 98® and
Virtual PC®.
So far, we tested the following programs:
We tested these programs on an iMac DV with 400 MHz PowerPC
G3 processor and 64 MB RAM, running system version 8.6 US, and the emulation
software SoftWindows
98® (version 5.09) or Virtual PC® (version 3.0
and 5.0). A known bug in Virtual PC 4.0 prevents some programs, including RAMAS
from running under emulation; see
http://www.connectix.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=29&t=000142).
