Frequently Asked Questions:
RAMAS EcoLab

  Q. I cannot enter values in various parameter edit boxes, and I cannot enter the decimal separator. Why?
This happens in computers that use comma (,) as the decimal separator.  We fixed this bug so that the same program can be used under any setting.  To update your version of RAMAS EcoLab, please see RAMAS EcoLab Update and download an updating program.

  Q. When I load a sample file, the expected values are missing or zero. When I try to enter the correct values I get error messages, as I do when I try to set up a new model.  What can I do?
Please see the answer to the previous question.

  Q. In "Multiple Populations" program (e.g., exercise 8.1), the "trajectory summary" output for the population = 1 is identical to the output for the metapopulation (population = 0).  Is this a program bug?
Yes, there is a bug in this program.  Please see RAMAS EcoLab Update to download a file that will fix this problem, as well the one described in the questions above.

  Q. How do I print a plot?
See the section "Viewing and printing results" in the Appendix.

  Q. (For DOS version 1.0:)  When I print a plot, nothing (or "garbage") comes out of the printer. How do I correct this?
Before you print, you must select the type of printer and the port in the Options screen. In most cases, you need to do this only once after installation.
